Welcome to Awesome August
Once again Mercury is direct (moving forward) as of July 28....so all areas of communication will flow so much easier now!
I mentioned in July's newsletter that when Mercury is in retrograde (moving backward), mail doesn't get delivered, computers break down, contracts need to be resigned, phone calls get "lost" more often, etc. areas where we might need to "redo".
Last week I had an experience that is such a great example of a Mercury breakdown. A client called Monday needing a 3 stone Diamond ring that he would like to pick-up on the following Friday....just giving us 4 days to to create something beautiful....a tight request but still doable. Having the perfect center Diamond in the store, we placed an order for two matching Diamonds for each side. Sent out from New York, via Fed Ex Wednesday, to be delivered Thursday AM, the Diamonds never arrived! There was an unexpected thunderstorm preventing planes leaving New York. Oh no! We "re-ordered" the Diamonds Thursday and luckily they arrived first thing Friday morning! Just with time enough for the goldsmith to set the Diamonds in the chosen ring and the client to pick up Friday afternoon!!
So what's happening this month.....
August 1 is known as Lammas or The First Harvest. A day to celebrate the bounty and abundance of Summer fruits, flowers and vegetables. Wear yellow today and if you get the opportunity, dance!
August 9 the Full Moon is in Aquarius. Usually the Full Moon is the time of highest emotion, energy and sensitivity.
Since Aquarius is involved you can expect to see the rebel side of yourself appear. So be aware that folks will be sensitive AND rebellious! Use this time, it is actually late afternoon Tuesday the 8th, all day the 9th and into the early morning hours of Thursday the 10th, to break out of a rut and try something different. Your need for freedom may seem overwhelming. A great time for socializing, seeking out friends as support and being around people in the area of your bliss!
Venus,the planet of love continues in the sign of Cancer so you may find yourself being nurturing and wanting to spend time at home. August 13, Venus moves into the sign of Leo and all of a sudden you will feel the desire to be romantic and the need to express your love for someone close to you....so don't hold back just do it.You will be glad you did! This lovely aspect will continue through August.
 Peridot, called the "Gem of the Sun" by the ancients is the traditional Gem for August. Originally found in Egypt, it's main sources are Pakistan, China, Arizona and New Mexico. Gem peridot too small to use in jewelry can be found all over the world. Most peridot come from small basaltic volcanoes and lava flows. The green sand beaches of the Hawaiian Islands are fun examples of tiny gem volcanic peridot. Color ranges from medium to light yellowish-green, peridots can come close to being pure and vivid green. The more saturated and pure the green, the more desirable.
Metaphysically, Peridot is used to cleanse and to stimulate the heart and solar plexus chakras, bringing openness and acceptance in the intellectual pursuit of matters of love and relationships!
