As we enter February the month kicks off with a powerful Full Moon in Leo on February 1. This is a Moon of celebration, remember that the Moon stays in each sign for two and a half days.....so these days will be full of joyful appreciation, liveliness, enthusiasm and passion! At the same time Uranus(planet of Change and Independence) and Mars are having a very lively discussion in regards to your habits, routines, home life and relationships. So if change is on your horizon this is the time for some illumination!

Wednesday February 14, Cupids favorite day, brings the energy of compassion, sensitivity and romance. A dreamy energy but with a 'feet on the ground' kind of pull. The Moon and Mars are holding hands in the house of romance.....the Moon is casting her light on Venus (planet of Love) in the house of relationships and Mars (planet of Passion) is beckoning Venus to come dance in the moonlight. Will Venus accept the invitation? Of course, and so will you....it will be a powerful and lovely day!

As we approach the end of February the Moon is once again in Leo....we have come full circle the past 28 days. This time the Leo moon is sending kisses to Venus in Aries, but Venus will have none of it....here she becomes the feminine warrior, challenging with a fiery attitude and you therefore may feel that energy from others as we enter March.

How appropriate that February's gemstone is full of purple passion. From refreshing lilac to rich plum, Amethyst has always been associated with intense emotion. The story I have heard is that Dionysus, the Greek God of wine, was insulted one day by a mortal. Angered, he called his vicious tigers to exact revenge on the next mortal that would cross his path. This happened to be the lovely maiden Amethyst, who was on her way to pay tribute to the Goddess Diana. When Amethyst found herself confronted by the tiger she called out to Diana who turned her into a statue of pure crystalline quartz. So beautiful was the maiden that Dionysus, in sorrow and remorse, wept tears of rich wine over the statue. His tears colored the quartz, creating the gem that still bears her name.
