May promises to be an exciting month beginning with the first of two Full Moons on May 2, in the sign of Scorpio. The Moon in Scorpio is a time of intensity in relationship and beliefs. Emotions are high, as well as psychic awareness. A good time to enjoy sensual and sexual pleasure!

After several months with no planets in the Earth element, the Sun and Mercury are both in the earthy sign of Taurus, now we will feel a new appreciation for the beauty of life on earth.

A Grand Cross is now forming, this involves the following planets - Sun, Mercury, Chiron, Saturn and the Moon. This Grand Cross is forcing the breakdown of long-standing patterns and offers us the option of change or be changed. If you are in doubt, when the Sun spars off with Saturn May 9, you will know exactly what choice needs to be made.

May 10, Jupiter and Uranus come to the ring to fight over freedom, and we will feel the need to break free from old patterns. The key here is the need for 'freedom'.......Jupiter in Sagittarius wants freedom more than any other sign and Uranus in Pisces wants it too, but in a more compassionate way.....so same outcome, just a different way of getting there.....you may find yourself in the middle!

May 16, the New Moon is in Taurus. Remember that a New Moon is a great time to begin new projects or for quitting unwanted activities. Taurus loves beauty and serenity. Stop and smell the flowers, enjoy a leisurely walk with a loved one. The New Moon in Taurus is asking what opens your heart and feeds your soul?

May 21, the Sun enters Gemini and life will become busier yet. Gemini urges us to change, increase our activity and converse with everyone around us. A time for thoughts and ideas to be brought out into the light.

May 28, Mercury enters the sign of Cancer and we find our focus is on the family and nurturing each other.

May 31, the second Full Moon occurs this month....also called a "Blue Moon".( This term actually originated from the Farmers Almanac whose editor used a blue pencil to circle the date of the fourth Full Moon occurring within a season.) This Full Moon in Sagittarius is full of enthusiasm, opportunity and adventure!!

Emerald is the traditional Gemstone for May.
