Hi Family and Friends,
As we enter October with an Aquarian Moon, the Sun, Venus and Mars are all holding hands in a ring of friendship and playfulness.....lots to talk about with all these planets in the air sign of Libra. Libra is the sign of harmony, friends and family and that is the scene for the beginning of this month!
Mid-month the Moon in Cancer brings the desire to tend home fires. Who wants to go out when you can be home and cozy?? Friday, October 15 brings beauty and charm to your life with Venus and Neptune dancing about, embrace this wondrous time!
As the month continues some of our favorite planets enter Scorpio and you will find life to be mysterious and passionate, but possibly a bit confusing at the same time. Our jester of the universe, Mercury, goes retrograde for the last time this year! So keep in mind from October 28 until November 17 you need to be aware of re-doing things......re is the key here!! and not a good time to sign documents....if you do make sure you read them completely and sign when you are absolutely sure all is understood....otherwise you will be doing them again!!
Opal is the traditional stone for October and what a beauty it truly is....a lovely stone with an internal fire....the beauty of precious Opal has long been admired and the Greeks prized it as much as a Diamond! The magic properties of the stone were aptly described by Pliny, the famous Roman author 'because it possesses a fire finer than that of carbuncle, it has the purple sparkle of amethyst, the sea-green of emerald, in fact it has an unbelievable mixture of colours'. (By the way in those days a carbuncle was a deep-red stone, probably a garnet). Fine Opals are found in Australia and depending on kind, place of occurrence and colour of the main body there are Black Opals, White or Light Opal, Milk or Crystal Opal (pictured here, on the larger butterfly), Boulder Opal and Mexican Fire Opal. Opals contain a small amount of water, so Opals need to be worn as often as possible to receive the needed humidity from the air and skin of its wearer.
Opal is known to solve depressions and help its wearer find true love!
Floating atop the smaller butterfly pictured here is the lesser known but becoming increasingly popular, Fire Opal. Yellowish red to brownish red, and highly translucent. Can exhibit fiery reflections or color play similar to precious Opals. The most significant Fire Opal deposits are found in Mexico.
Fire Opals are said to bestow courage, stamina and will power!
Enjoy October and all that it brings,
Susan
